Sequin Skirt.

Top// Cotton On
Skirt// Down East
Heels// Windsor
Purse// Francesca's

I stopped into Down East the other day and found this skirt. Such a gem! I love it. It can be worn so many ways. This is a more casual look, but it can be dressed up to the max with all the pretty sequins. They also had some sequin leggings in stock that were SO cute. I should have gotten them. They would have been great for a holiday party or special event. I may have to go back to see if they are still there :)
Have a fabulous day every one!!! xoxo

Protein Waffles.

Today I wanted to share one of my all time favorite healthy recipes ... Protein Waffles! In my mind there is nothing better! My husband and I make them all the time, and they seriously never get old. We eat them for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

My husband and I are going to Newport Beach in less then 3 weeks and I'm DyInG over excitement. I am so ready for a vacation, and there is nothing better then being at the beach! The only downside is that it's time to get real strict with the diet. We always love to eat healthy, but we also love sweets... A LOT, so we fail on our diet plan here and there. Since we are getting so close to our trip we are trying to be super healthy for two reasons.

        1. You're literally in a bathing suit the whole trip
        2. We love to eat bad food and everything in sight on vacations:), so                 we have to lose a few pounds before hand so we can afford to gain a             few back!! ( great way of thinking right!!)

This recipe is one of my favorites because you can make it so sweet with adding some fruit on the side. I LOVE fruit. It is also high in protein so it makes a great meal after workouts, but we love it so much we eat it all the time...

So here is the recipe...

Protein Waffles or Pancakes
-6 egg whites
-2 cups oats
-1 cup cottage cheese
-Small amount of milk( we use almond milk)

You can add these things to your desire...
-Cinnamon (we always add this)
-Frozen fruit

Toppings I use
-Peanut Butter
-Honey
-Sugar-FREE cool whip
-Fresh strawberries

Toppings my husband uses
-Peanut butter
-Sugar FREE syrup
-Honey
-Coconut flakes

Extremely easy, right!? With this recipe you can make them into pancakes or waffles. I love waffles, because I like them somewhat crispy. As you can also see, you can pretty much customize them according to your liking.

If you have not heard of or tried this recipe, it's a must. Love, love it!
I will be posting more healthy recipes we love around our house a bit more the next couple of weeks to share with you some totally yummy, but healthy food to stay fit for the summer.

Thank you so much for stopping by today.

Tribal Printed Leggings.

Jean button up shirt// Old Navy
White shirts// Cotton On
Leggings// Kohl's
Purse// Target
Necklace// Charlotte Russe
These leggings are my new favorite. There are so many colors going on that I feel like I could create so many outfits with them. As you have probably noticed, I have a SMALL addiction to leggings. I have way too many pairs, but they are just so comfortable and you can totally dress them up, or you can look super casual in them like this outfit today.

This weekend my husband had some family visiting town. We all went to dinner at the Pizza Factory so we could sit outside and enjoy the beautiful weather. Although it sprinkled on us a bit, it was a perfect day for outside dining. I have been loving the weather the last couple of days. I love overcast days. It makes me so excited for fall and fall clothing!:)

Okay, doesn't my husband (Tyler) look like a cutie!? I just love him :) He has the best style, for which I give myself some credit. I think if he had it his way, he would wear basketball shorts and running shoes all day!

I hope you all had a great weekend. Thank you so much for following along! xoxo

A Little Baking Soda Never Hurt...

Okay, washing my face with Baking Soda has become one of my new FAVORITE things to do lately. Seriously amazing!:)

I heard from a friend of mine, who is an incredible Esthetician, that she uses baking soda to exfoliate her skin and that it is a dream. I didn't think much of it, or that it would really work, but thought I would give it a try.

No joke my friends, it's the BEST! I have been washing my face with baking soda once a week since I learned about it. Some people use it as a masque once a week, but I just wash my face with it once or twice a week.

To reap the benefits of exfoliating with baking soda, add a teaspoon of the powder to your facial cleanser, mix well, and massage into skin like you would with a regular exfoliant. Do this 2-3 times a week or as per your regular exfoliation routine.

Everyone's skin is different. Some people can exfoliate their skin more then others. I have sensitive skin so I usually just exfoliate once a week. My husband's skin is not sensitive at all, but gets a bit oily so he exfoliates 2-3 times a week.

PS... He has been using the baking soda as well, and loves it. It has changed his skin. It doesn't get oily whatsoever. It is a bit drying to the skin, so if you have excess oil you will love this. If you have dry skin be sure to moisturize afterwards.

A few differences I have noticed about my skin since I have used the baking soda as a cleanser..
- My skin is crystal clear
- Absorbs excess oil that I get sometimes in my T-zone
- I seriously feel like I get an instant face lift after each use
- My makeup applies so evenly
- My pores have shrunk around my nose

If you have never used baking soda in place of your cleanser or a masque, you really need to. You wont regret it, and your skin will be flawless! I can't imagine not using it now. It's seriously the bomb!:)

Try it and let me know what you think! I would love to hear about the changes you see in your skin after using it!

One last thing... If you google ways to use baking soda, you will find a million tips and tricks. Such a cheap and an easy way to make you beautiful!

Have a great weekend, and thank you for stopping by. :)

Bracelets// Charlotte Russe

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend! My husband and I squeezed in a trip to our favorite place, Yogurt Land, for a little treat! We love it so much. I told him that we should just start eating their for dinner every night :)!

Okay, I am super jazzed about these shorts of mine. I got them at Bohme about a week ago. I was walking through the mall and I saw them on display, and they caught my eye!! I went in to take a quick peak and to my surprise they were on sale, BIG TIME. They were like 60% off, so I couldn't pass them up. It made my whole night!:) They are so comfortable and fun for the summer. I want to wear them everywhere. Also, can we talk about this cute hand bag that I recently received. A friend that I work with bought it a couple of weeks ago at a knitting store. She LOVES to knit. Everyday she brought it to work and I would comment about how much I love it, so she bought herself a new bag the other day and gave this one to me. She is a doll! The hand bag is still pretty much brand new!!!! I need to find out where exactly she purchased it and buy it in every color!

I am so excited for this holiday week (Pioneer Day). I love the 24th. A fun-filled week with family and celebrations. What are some of your family traditions for the 24th!? This year we are going to do a long, morning run with my husband's family, and then we will go to a parade in one of the nearby towns! SO excited!!

Also, don't forget to enter yourself into my Saturday giveaway!

Skin Care Saturday.

Interested in another way to protect your face from sun damage? Look no further...

inner light™ mineral tinted moisture broad spectrum SPF 15

                                 Aveda Tinted Moisturizer.
Simply amazing. We all know that although we LOVE the sun it is sometimes not the best for you. I have definitely worshiped the sun in my days, but I am trying a lot harder this year to stay away from tanning beds and laying out. I usually just like to go tanning before beach vacations, so I don't fry. I know I shouldn't tan at all, but I have cut back big time, and I always wear sunscreen now!

Aveda's tinted moisturizer has been one of my favorite products lately. It is simply a moisturizer with a tiny bit of color that has SPF 15 included. Perfect for a trip to the beach or a swim day when you don't want to wear make up, but you still want a little coverage. I also tell people they can use it in place of their liquid foundation if their powder doesn't have any SPF. This will allow you to wear your normal powder foundation while still adding SPF. It is so important to wear sunscreen, ESPECIALLY on your face.

Aveda's list of benefits...

  • Provides broad-spectrum protection from UVA and UVB rays
  • Instantly increases radiance up to 24%
  • Up to 25% improvement in moisture upon application-and still hydrating after eight hours of wear
  • Non-acnegenic
  • Formulated without parabens
  • Portable flip-top tube in a 100% post-consumer recycled carton

  • I reached an agreement with an owner of an Aveda Salon in the Provo/Orem, UT area. If you go to the Remedez Hair Salon and Spa in the University Mall in Orem, UT and buy this product, you will receive 10% off by mentioning this blog post. Be sure to mention that you saw the post on the Purely Poised blog. Unfortunately, this probably only benefits Utah followers, or followers who happen to be in the area. In order to give everyone a chance to experience the product, I want to include everyone in something special, so I also want to give away one tinted moisturizer to a lucky person :). Everyone is welcome to participate. When the winner is chosen, I will email you to determine what color you would like, and I will then mail the product to you!

I have been so excited to share these wedges with you! I have somewhat of a problem, I LOVE wedges so much. I have a shoe obsession. My friend, who also loves wedges, found this online store called "Pink Basis" the other day, and they have the cheapest shoes. She of course told me about it, and I had to order some for myself. I got two pairs for$30.00, including the shipping. Incredible, right!?

I was a little nervous they wouldn't be good quality since they were so affordable, but they are amazing! They fit like a glove, and they are so comfortable. I cant wait to wear my other pair!:)

I am also so happy about one of my other latest purchases. My short-chain gold necklace that has a "C" on it is from Soel Boutique.
